I guess I still have a little bit of a kid in me.
I look forward to the first snow.
This is my favorite thing to do with the first snowfall.
I've made one for as long as I can remember.
Lord thank you for the Angels that watch over me.
Now this is what I call winter time fun.
Every year in the middle of the long cold winter try this.
Have a picnic on the floor.
I make potato salad and all the trimmings.
Get hotdogs and marshmallows to roast on the fire.
And we enjoy a winter picnic without the ants.
We have one of the oldfashion popcorn poppers too.
That is a fun thing to make in the fire.
This year I think we'll add homemade ice cream to the picnic.
Found a hand crank ice cream maker at a junk store this year.
The grandkids will love this!
Now Mother's may not like this tag game.
Mine was always telling us to leave our hats on.
So you may want an extra hat.
You can only be tagged-and become it-if you are holding the hat.
If you are about to be tagged, you toss the hat to someone else.
If the person who is it catches the hat, you become "It" anyway.
Fox & Geese
A fun snow game.
Tramp down the snow in paths to make a big wheel with spokes and a hub.
Choose one player to be the fox. The rest are the geese.
The fox tries to catch the geese.
The first goose caught then becomes the fox.
You must stay within the paths or you become the fox.
If the fox steps off he must catch 2 geese to get out of being the fox.
The hub is a safety zone for the geese.
But only 2 at a time may be in the hub.
Snowball fights, building forts or igloos, ice skating, sledding
are all fun winter time things to do.
