Irish Blessing May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, The rain fall soft upon your fields, And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
We've all heard the saying, "The luck of the Irish". I don't believe in luck because that means everything is left to chance. The Lord has a plan and a purpose for our lives if we'll look to him for it. He blesses us with each day he gives us. He's given us the ability to bless each other.
Words, words, words! There are so many words. Just think of how many words are in a dictionary. The dictionary is so heavy with words. Six pounds of words in one book (I weighed our book). Depending on how we put the words together they can be a blessing or a curse. They can bring joy or sorrow, laughter or tears. Psalm 39:1...I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle... We should think before we speak. And be careful what we keep in our hearts. If we hold bitterness and hate in our heart, it will come out of our mouth. Hold love and compassion in your heart. Psalm 19:14...May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord my Rock and my Redeemer. Proverbs 25:11 tells us how the Lord wants us to use words; "A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver ." Loving WordsTake time to speak a loving word, Where loving words are seldom heard; And it will linger in the mind, And gather others of its kind.
