Ma Kettle Cake
3 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
pinch of salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 cup shortening
1 tablespoon vinegar
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups hot water
Preheat oven to 350-375 degrees depending on your oven.
Sift all the dry ingredients into a large bowl.
Make a well into the middle of the dry ingredients.
Drop in the remaining ingredients and mix well.
Bake until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Cool and frost with a buttercream fosting.
Punch
1 - 2 liter bottle Hawaiian Punch
1 - 2 liter bottle Sprite
Orange Sherbet
I usually take a jello mold and make a ring of ice for punch.
Make sure they are chilled a head of time.
Mix punch and Sprite about half and half.
Put in small scoops of sherbet.
It's ready to go!
