Kids Kitchen Terms



appetizing: Anything advertised on TV.
apple: Tooth Fairy's delight.
boil: Point parents reach when hearing the automatic "YUK" before food is even tasted.
casserole: Combination of favorite foods that goes uneaten because they are mixed together.
chair: Spot left vacant by mid meal bathroom visits.
cookie: (last one) Item that must be eaten in front of sibling.
crust: The part of the snadwich saved for the straving children of (check one) Africa, China, India.
dessert: The reason for eating a meal.
evaporate: Magic trick performed by children when it comes time to clear the table or wash dishes.
fat: Microscopic substance detected by children on pieces of meat they don't want to eat.
fiber: Nutrient found outdoors, such as in the sandbox.
fish: Form of protein with too many bones.
floor: Place for all food not found on lap or seat.
fork: Eating utensil made obselete with the discovery of fingers.
fried foods: Gourmet cooking.
frozen: Condition of children's jaws when spinach is served.
germs: Only thing kids will share freely.
hungry: Constant condition of both well nourished and malnourished children.
jelly bean: Only vegetable all kids will eat.
ketchup: A condiment that other foods are eaten with.
kitchen: Only room not used when eating a crumbly snack.
left-overs: Commonly described as gross.
liver: Food that affects genes, creating a hereditary dislike.
lollipops: Snack provided by people who don't have to pay the dental bills.
macaroni: Material for a collage.
measuring cup: A kitchen utensil that i stored in the sandbox.
metric: A system of measurment that will only be acceptable after wandering 40 years in the desert.
napkin: A worn cloth object, such as a shirt or pants.
natural foods: Food eaten with unwashed hands.
nutrition: A secret war used by parentsusing commands,camouflage & constant guard duty.
peanut butter: Staff of life.
plate: Breakable frisbee.
pot luck: When children set the table.
refrigerator: Expensive and inefficient air conditioner.
saliva: A medium for blowing bubbles.
snack: A meal lasting all day.
soda pop: Shake-n-Spray.
table: A place for storing gum.
table leg: Percussion instrument.
thirsty: How your child feels after you've said your final "Goodnight".
underneath: Where Abby, Emily, Molly, & Oreo wait for a biscuit.
vegetable: Basic food known to satisfy kis hunger.....but only by sight.
water: Popular beverage in underdeveloped countries.
yukky: Half the vocabulary of a child.
yummy: Other half of vocabulary of the same child.
