Heavenly Chocolate Cake


3/4 cup cocoa
2/3 cup boiling water
2 cups sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2cups all-purpose flour
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 cup buttermilk or sour milk


To sour milk add 2 tsp. white vinegar to 3/4 cup milk.
Preheat oven 350 degrees. Grease & flour 2 heart shaped pans.
Stir cocoa & boiling water until smooth; set aside.
In large bowl, beat butter, sugar, & vanilla until fluffy;
beat in eggs & cocoa mixture.
Stir together flour, soda, & salt;
alternate buttermilk & flour mixture into butter mixture.
Pour into prepared pans.

Bake 30 to 35 min. or until toothpick comes out clean.
Cool 10 min. before removing from pans.
Cool completely.
Frost with Glossy Chocolate Sour Cream Frosting.
